🇺🇸 National Typewriter Day - 06.23.2026

"There is only one place to write and that is alone at a typewriter. The writer who has to go into the streets is a writer who does not know the streets. . . when you leave your typewriter you leave your machine gun and the rats come pouring through." — Notes of a Dirty Old Man

I’m sitting in SFO airport on National Typewriter Day. If I was in Mexico… there would be parties and days off. Those fuckers drink for any occasion.

I have two typewriters… one manual, one electric… both vintage. I dig on the energy of this machine. Power.

Tomorrow I reach the age of 59… another year around the sun. I’ll spend half the day in the hospital in Denver… in search of the root of my deteriorating health. I’m tired… but I feel better being on the move. I’ll also try to get my Mexican Temporary Residency Visa while here… if I’m approved… I go back to Mexico… if not… Asia, Europe, Central America… I don’t know. A feather in the wind.
