Waldport, Oregon and the Witch Cave

I checked the tide charts before I left my lovely boarding room in the forest near Waldport, OR. On Aug 8th at 10:46PM, the tide will be up 8.43ft… I don’t know what that means to me but I was quite pleased with my new sea skills. One time I navigated Italy, far before smart phones and googly maps, with paper schedules and charts filled with columns and rows of numbers… AND… I didn’t even get arrested one single time and made it back to the continental U.S. with all the body parts I arrived with. Anyone want to travel with me now?!?

Pics of the day are from an impromptu stroll hike/wee break at Sisters Rock. Something witchy going on there. I climbed around and decided since I’m on my own I shouldn’t climb all the way down to the mouth of the sea cave. I was sure I could get down but not sure I could get back. My background voice is razzing me as I write this, to go back and climb down to the edge of that cave hole. I’ve done more ridiculous and unsafe things and lived to tell about it.

My body is officially mush. I am currently at 4,500 miles behind the wheel on this adventure and feeling it head to toe. I’m parked in Brookings, OR and will be in Crescent City, CA for a couple/few days for some R&R.

Now… if anyone wants to fly out to Sacramento or Reno and take over driving… I will snack you up the entire way back to Taos and be your BFF and ever. 💙🌊☺️

Anywho, the ocean… it’s pretty cool. I think I’ll call this one the SPacific Ocean cuz that sounds pretty cool.
