🇲🇽 Junkie Train Wreck - 02.26.2026

“arbitrary conceptions

have sprung into existence

that didn’t have to be there

in the first place

when your eyes were bright

with seeing emptiness

in the void of holy sea

where creatures didn’t abound,

nor crops grow,

and nothing happened,

and nobody lived,

and nobody cared…”

— Jack Kerouac (Mexico City Blues, 108th Chorus)

Parasite

The word parasite is often used to refer to any organism that infects and causes harm to another. Parasitism is a close relationship between species, where one organism, the parasite, lives (at least some of the time) on or inside another organism, the host, causing it some harm, and is adapted structurally to this way of life. The entomologist characterised parasites' way of feeding as "predators that eat prey in units of less than one…

As we wade through the swamp of life, we tend to pick up a parasite or two… how much do they take? how long will they drain you? sometimes you have to cut out all that is infected around you to remove them. Life… energy… limbs… possessions… There’s no lessons to be learned, no growth, no enlightenment… you were simply exposed. In the wrong place at the wrong time... and you become a target. They have a single motivation, to feed on others… and take… and take more… giving nothing more than empty promises in return… lies, deception, aggravation, capricious behavior, gas lighting tactics… to cloud your perceptions. To camouflage reality… until nothing more remains of use. Then they drop… no sound, no warning, without empathy… and move onto the next host... a hot mess for another sucker.

And nothing changes… because one cannot change the instinct of one’s nature. A parasite is born a parasite. A medicated parasite… is a parasite as a person in disguise. A self-medicated parasite… a junkie… with half-mast eyes… with malice… the most treacherous of… infects your soul… purloin your cordiality… with prejudice… simply because she has none of her own.

The first time, I didn’t know what hit me… the second time, I saw it coming… and still stood on the tracks… waiting for the train wreck… to hit me in the face.

Moral of the story; don’t drag your feet through the swamp… get out quickly… or go around it all together. Or pay for it… heavily… on various and profound levels.
