Seattle Round 1 - The Atmospheric River - 01.07.22
Did you know that there is moss that grows on top of other moss in Seattle? And those may grow on your face when you sleep… well, I made it to town and I think I have moss growing on my face already.
So… did I mention a gigante cedar tree fell on my hobbit house just before I arrived in Seattle yesterday? It shifted this morning and crashed into my wee cottage yet again. Big loud thud… one more move and it’s coming through the window. Epps!
Check out the big ass hobbit coffee cup!
Time to leave the Shire and journey to downtown Mordor for coffee and to find the “ring” or something. An onion ring.
Funky rainy urban hike by the water in the Fremont neighborhood. Dinosaurs, cool bridges, the center of the universe and then… and THEN, I find a troll under a bridge! This dude may be responsible for knocking a tree over on my cottage.
The head InnKeeper at the fish snack place said “oh! It’s really raining… this is not usual. It’s usually just drizzle all the time.” I just came from 2 very dry and sunny places and I’m soaked down to my base layer and I am thinking I could never live here because my glasses are perpetually fogged up.
I did see a National Service Alert that the weeks of heavy rain and snow have saturated the soil and there is danger of land slides. I must of completed my hobbit quest because it’s finally stopped raining. So… I’ll head out to Puget Sound soon and see if I can find a gooey duck. Google ‘Geoduck’ if you don’t know what it is… I think I’m in a J.R. Tolkien book today.
