Idaho City - The LDS Church & Heise Hot Springs - 08.01.21
This is the ‘skip’ on my hop, skip and jump back to Denver. I obtained a discount for being an adequate concierge and swell guy for Airbnb and only paid a few bucks for this place in Idaho Falls. It’s a 1900 LDS church now Inn. The walls are paper thin and I can hear other people blinking.
My friend, whom I won’t mention, gave me some LDS once and I went on an adventure to another dimension. Never left my couch.
The cat in the picture was stalking me.
This place puts me at a crossroads. I don’t officially need to be back until the 6th but I’m low on snack funds. Am I ready to conclude this adventure? Not really… am i ready to not be perpetually hunched over a steering wheel? Definitely. Maybe I can just hang out in Steamboat Springs for a few days to acclimate myself back to Colorado life. Now… onto Medicine Bow. More car time but there’s always a hot springs on the route.
Heise Hot Springs
Quick stop at Heise Hot Springs. It’s places like this that I choose my route for the day. 7 minutes off the highway and there were 5 people when I arrived. Super high flow and refresh rate. Next to the river. Kickass mineral pool and I had it to myself… until one ‘Hemingway’ looking character sat way on the other end. Perhaps he was wayyyy over ‘there’ cuz I had heavy mineral thingys dripping in one of my eyes. Maybe he thought I was winking at him. Relax fella! I have a crush on that one girl from that one place. Then the kiddies showed and the music started blaring. It was “Safety Dance” and I so mouthed the words and tapped my foot but it’s 10am… which is fine. I have much to see and can’t delay today. The world is a very big gotdam place when you want to see EVERYTHING.
