McCall, Idaho, Payette Lake & Gold Fork Hot Springs - 07.30.21

This is a collection of moments that started with a very auspicious morning breakfast in McCall, ID and the journey South to a place just outside of Boise. I had been ill with a horrible head cold for the previous week as I trudged through Montana, and was finally feeling good. The day began and ended in a way that reinforces my philosophies to trust the process when you’re undeniable in the flow…

“The chief beauty about time is that you cannot waste it in advance. The next year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you, as perfect, as unspoiled, as if you had never wasted or misapplied a single moment in all your life. You can turn over a new leaf every hour if you choose.” - Arnold Bennett

Check out this table at my breakfast place, Café 6 three 4. It’s 30 meters from where I comfortably rested my head. It’s an hour wait for food but mine came in 5 minutes. They are playing Lord Huron for tunes. The local XX population is very aesthetic. Giant latte and the world starts now. And yes, I’m number 1…. it’s official.

auspicious start to my fay in McCall, Idaho.

Payette Lake: huge ponderosas. The campground was the same population of Lyons, CO but super chill. 5 mile loop hike on the peninsula and it’s gorgeous and next to no trash. McCall is a resort lakeside town but super cute and awesome places to eat and affordable. Not really my cup of tea but I like and would come back. It was a nice change in vibration of the MyMontana visit.

“I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart) I am never without it (anywhere I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling) I fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet)I want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true) and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart)”

-E. E. Cummings

So… here is a soak experience that may never be topped. I thought this was a primitive hot springs when I was driving to it but it’s developed. There were 3 people when I showed up and they left shortly after. I had the entire joint to myself. 6 pools. Crystal clear water. Beautifully maintained. Super clean. $10 bucks. $10!!!!!! They just opened up since Covid and you need a vax card so they are low on population. 3 hours of zen and it get 5 out 5 RoundhouseKick Buddha Penguins with 2 OMFGs.

Wowza! Best day ever!!!!
