Crescent City, CA - Part 2 & 3 - Plants and Places

Parts 2 and 3 - Plants and Things in Northern California.

The Redwood highway to Damnation Creek Trail will knock your socks clean off. The hike on the trail is like being in ”Land of the Lost” and I’m fully expecting dinosaurs and Sleestaks to peek around each corner. The fog was rolling in through the massive trees and I’d like to say I was speechless but I was not. Many out-loud “whoaaaaa, look at that!” (totally talking to myself). I have to come back… I didn’t even get enough.

More sea things… docks, and lighthouse, and fog horns, and beaches… most of my day was next to the ocean and I’ll long for it when I’m not near. One California sunset and back to my boarding room for big snores.

I’m officially at the 4 week mark on this adventure and I am ready for some home-base time. 2 weeks is an adventure… more than that… it’s a lifestyle. Oh how I love my lifestyle but there’s more to life’s equation and there’s plenty I’m missing and craving and needing.

Onto more Redwood things today, Grant’s Pass… onto Mt Shasta… a stop at a joint called Sierra Hot Springs… and then… and then, Samantha! I squint my eyes and drive fast from Reno to Ogden, Ogden to Denver, and Denver to Taos. And rinse and repeat… and rinse and repeat… and rinse and… and zen.

**Samantha is a fictitious character I use in my storytelling process and to dialog with while I’m on the road alone as to not look like a crazy person talking to myself all of the time. There’s a story somewhere in the past explaining my real life encounter with a gal named Samantha… and me meeting her with my sweater inside out… ping me and I’ll link you to it if you’re bored.
