🇵🇪 Barranco, Lima, Peru - 04.12.23

This was a layover in Peru that I extended a couple days just to check it out. Lima proper was a complete hornet’s nest and was glad that I set up camp South in the bohemian surf town of Barranco. Lots of street art, hip people, surfers, good snacks… and the Pacific Ocean.

I was scheduled to hike the Inca trail to Machu Picchu last November but it fell through… mainly because of some tension with my hiking partner. Later… access to Machu Picchu would close to tourists… something about the locals questioning where certain monies were going. It’s still there… and not going anywhere… so some day.

I didn’t have time to get to the hills so I’ll have to go back… maybe in a month or two when it’s not so hot.

As I write this I have left Lima and made my way, without incident, to Ecuador. I’ve been in the country for about 32 hours and I’m already in like like with it… ten tons of pics and several thousand words coming soon.
