Oaxaca City - Hierve El Agua 2.2.23

This was a 2 week experiment in seasonal living in Mexico. Since this trip I’ve been back in the cold weather places of Colorado and New Mexico… it’s not the cold… it’s the daylight hours. It gets dark in the early evening and that’s typical in winter months and indeed is a time to reflect. I guess there’s no escape from it… and more importantly, the question is; why should you?

I never found my rhythm in Oaxaca City… I didn’t find the nature elements that are important to me so I had difficulty connecting. Some of which is the dynamic of connecting with fellow travelers. Good things and not so enjoyable things. I don’t go into adventures with much intention… just the idea of stepping into a flow. And this one, I never found the flow and was quite happy to return to my home base in Berkeley.

I have another round in Mexico, starting with San Miguel de Allende and finishing in Mexico City… I will go into these with specific intentions and covering the equation that is important to me. Quality experiences…
